Jim Harvey discovered Zen Buddhism in his late teens, and promptly began sitting every day in his room, confident he would soon be enlightened and profoundly transformed. Now, more than two decades later, he is far less confident of such results, (but this is not disheartening as he has become quite good at expecting nothing,) and has explored a number of other traditions such as Tibetan Buddhism, Daoism, shamanism, and Advaita Vedanta, (so much for digging your hole in one place! :-). He is a committed Ashtanga yoga practitioner, loves travel, reading, dabbling in language learning, music, and drinking tea with close friends while indulging in inspiring (but quite likely largely pointless) conversation. Jim writes a contemplative blog on travel, learning, life, and ending up unexpectedly in distant places he never expected to go. He is presently based in Europe.
